COMPACT STARS IN THE QCD PHASE DIAGRAM IV

and

Working Group Meeting of COST Action MP1304

September 26 - 30, 2014

Prerow, Baltic coast, Germany

The fourth "Compact Stars in the QCD Phase diagram" workshop will be held in a holiday resort in the city of Prerow at the German Baltic coast, from September 26 - 30, 2014.

Past CSCQD meetings and published proceedings

CSQCD combines expertise from QCD, in particular hot and dense phases,  and astrophysics of compact objects. This workshop will focus on the problem of the appearance of QCD degrees of freedom in the evolution of compact stars (from their birth in core-collapse supenrovae to their old age as cold radio pulsars including binary merger events) as well as  in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. A profound theoretical description of these phenomena necessarily involves the equation of state and transport properties of QCD matter which are derived from nonperturbative quantum field theories, many-body physics of strong interactions and phenomenological investigations.
