Applications of the DFA method

DFA (Detrended Fluctuation Analysis) is a method of calculating fractal dimension of an ordered sequence. I will briefly present its history, motivation for developing such a method and its applications. This will be followed by a description of recent modifications of this method, which make it even more versatile.
